Milwaukee Repertory Theater

Founded in 1954, MRT stands as the city's flagship company and a leading regional force in American theater. Housed in the heart of downtown, Milwaukee Rep draws national attention for its diverse repertoire and exceptional production values. 

First Stage Children's Theater

Established in 1987, First Stage is one of the nation's most respected theaters for young audiences. With professional productions and an extensive theater academy, serving over 150,000 people annually. 

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre

Founded in 1975, Milwaukee Chamber is known for producing intimate, thought provoking plays with a strong emphasis on local talent. Working out of this historic Broadway Theatre Center, the company delivers rich experiences. 

Next Act Theatre

Active since the 1990s, Next Act is deeply committed to socially relevant work that challenges audiences to engage with contemporary issues, offering a smart, compelling night at the theatre. 

Renaissance Theaterworks

Milwaukee's only professional women-founded and women-run, theater and has championed gender equity in the arts since 1993. It has a tradition of highlighting underrepresented voices and fosters dialogue around race, identity and intellect. 

Sunset Playhouse

Founded in 1954 and located in suburban Elm Grove, Sunset Playhouse brings accessible, high-quality productions to local audiences. Known for its blend of musicals, comedies and youth programming. 

Acacia Theatre Company

Founded in 1980, Acacia Theatre focuses on work from a Christian worldview, providing a platform for throughtful, value-driven narratives. 

Theatre Gigante

Formed in 1987, Gigante defies categorization; blending theater, dance and performance art. Their latest piece offered striking exploration of everyday life through movement and abstraction. 

UWM Peck School of the Arts Theater

UWM continues to delveop the next generation of performers, writers and directors. Their productions usually showcase the bold talent and playful spirit emerging from the university's esteemed training program.
