About 18 of us Numanoids gathered at 4:30pm at the Fonda for the pre-show
meet and greet and sound check. Dave, his road manager & leader of
Nightmare Air lead us into the theatre.
We had 3 minutes each but Gary is a relaxed character, posing, listening and
autographing. He gave me a hug at the end of our convo and he smelled great.
Also, Dave takes excellent photos.
Gemma, Raven, Echo and Persia made an appearance after the rocking sound
check.
The concert was flawless & tight as usual. I'd seen him within a year at the
Fillmore in San Francisco, Ca and the Metro Music Hall in Salt Lake CIty (we
Numanoids are devoted) but the Fonda Theatre has a special, show biz vibe.
Gary Numan loves what he does he's in great shape & voice and is an excellent
performer dripping sweat. His band kicked ass once again.
There were sing along moments: Metal and Films especially but for some
reason now when I hear Here In The Black I think of the Fonda Theatre. Me:

AMAZING
Just an incredible night. Thank you Gary, it
had to be so tough to do after the bus
accident in Cleveland. Such an incredible
professional and brilliant entertainer.

ELECTRONIC ECSTASY
What a SUPERB musical experience!! Gary Numan at the Queen in Delaware, Sept.
23, 2018, was a a totally amazing performance. The concert opened with the
hypnotic and powerful song Everything Comes Down to This, and included major hits
like Cars and My Name is Ruin, but my favorite was the updated and thrilling Are
Friends Electric. Numan has a new sensual dark edge to his electronic melodies, and
the creative lighting and dancing add to the wonderful spectacle. The Queen is
intimate and comfortable, and the balcony offers assigned seating. Gary Numan
offered a stadium level class of concert in a smaller venue, and we the lucky
audience, were blessed by his musical genius. Highly recommended!! Greatly
enjoyed!!

AMAZING..WE WERE JUST BLOWN AWAY!
This was the best live show that I have ever seen! The sound was
fantastic, the light show was incredible and numan and his band were
incredible as they danced and leaped around the stage expressing the
emotions and sounds that they were creating. The new material was
excellent. Epic and creative. We also enjoyed the modern versions of
the older songs. I can't believe this guy has been doing this for 40
years and can still write and perform like that. He is a one of a kind
phenomenon and his band is also excellent. If you geta chance to see
Gary Numan live..don't miss it!!!!

MOST UNDERRATED LIVE SHOW!
This was my third time to see him. He was flawless, as usual. The sound, lights, and he and the bands' performance was flawless. He is a performer and 100% business. He came out and did an almost 2 hour show and did not leave anyone disappointed. He turns 64 tomorrow and will outperform bands half his age. I'm patiently waiting for the second leg of this tour. I'll see him, again!

WHO LET THAT PERSON FIDDLE THE KNOBS?
We went to see Gary Numan play the Fonda last night. The opening act, Tara Busch, had some technical problems and the sound engineer must have been deaf as the vocal level was way too low and hard to make out anything she was singing. Indistinct at best. She gamely soldiered thru and we thought they would fix the problem between sets. Not to be. Worst sound quality I have experienced at a live gig since the 70s! Shocked. Feel sorry for Gary Numan having to put up with that. He seemed to be putting his all into it, all credit to him. But barely audible vocals with the muted, muffled and distorted lack of range was awful. The clarity was terrible. I have seen bands at the Fonda before and this was the first time I thought the quality of sound was so bad. Get a new sound system or a new sound engineer!!!
